Create awareness and raise money to help kids
It’s never been easier
Simple steps to online awareness and fundraising success
1. Set up your Champions Team page
Your team page is your invitation to others to become involved in the initiative to protect Florida’s children. By creating a
team page, you are setting up your team’s success. Here are few hints to help make your page one they'll remember:
- Set goals – Recruitment goals for the number of team members you are seeking and fundraising goals for the amount of money you want to raise for children.
- Make it personal – Add a photo of you or your team. Share your passion for children and how you are making a difference in their lives. While there is sample text available, nothing is more compelling than your own words.
- Link, Link, Link – Connect your Champions Team page and your social media pages. Include links within your email signature. Promote your team on Facebook and Twitter. Keep your messages fresh and current.
2. Recruit new Champions Team members
No need to collect paper registrations or spend hours on the phone. Your team members can quickly and easily register online. Ask others join your team from your team page, or use the online tools to send a team registration link via email. You also can download your Outlook contact list into the outreach tool. (This tool will even track the recipients who open your emails.)
3. Raising money to help kids
Now for the fun part! After you send your personalized email to all your friends, family and colleagues, you can watch your up-to-the-minute fundraising tracker grow. Our online tools make it simple for your supporters to donate online to keep you moving toward your fundraising goals.
4. Encourage team members
Encourage your Champions team to create their personal pages and send emails to their contacts. To get them started, make it fun with contests and incentives such as movie tickets, restaurant certificates or even a home-cooked meal. Some contest ideas: the member who raises the most money this week, a drawing for every member who secures 10 gifts online or recruits the most new Champions during a designated week.
5. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We thank YOU! And you can never thank your team members enough. Besides, it’s easy! When team members register, they receive a thank you. When people contribute to your team’s goals, they receive a thank you. You can send online thank you notes to individuals, team members and donors to let them know how much you appreciate their support and what an incredible difference they are making in the lives of Florida’s vulnerable children.
Have fun with team appreciation! Ask a local bar, pizza place or sandwich shop to support your efforts by hosting a small party for your team. Host a potluck dinner, cook-out, pool party, football tailgate party, wine and cheese sampling, etc. Celebrate your team‘s accomplishments.
6. Celebrate milestones
In addition to thanking folks, we encourage you to celebrate team members when they reach milestones, receive a large donation or recruit a large number of Champions. Send them an email and let them know you're excited for them. Your enthusiasm will keep your team members engaged and help them succeed.
7. Don’t be afraid to ASK
Reach out to friends, family and coworkers to join your team. Whether it is through the online tools, a friendly phone call or an email, ask others to join your efforts. Ask them to help you to reach your recruitment and fundraising goals. Ask them to join you as a Champion for our children.
8. Keep your team informed
Be the conduit of information. As the Champion Team Captain, you will occasionally receive email alerts and tips in addition to our monthly Champions Connection email. Share our tips and news with your team so they can play an active role in the success of your team.
